Chalets
on the Park is one of the most established B&B's in Dundee. After 15 years
in the business, the owner understands his guests very well and is able to put
together tailor-made tours to suit their specific needs and interests. You will
discover that our rates are more than affordable.
We major on independence, self-catering and security in the perfect getaway
setting where there is no noise, no crime, no malaria, but only a piece of dream
real estate on a huge park.
Where
eagles land in the day and owls hoot at night one can experience history come
alive - we are nestled between Melville Street and Chard Street by accident
or by destiny (who knows?) - named after two of the star warriors of the Battle
of Isandlwana and the Defence of Rorke's Drift. During these world famous battles
both received the Victoria Cross. At the award ceremony Chard was alive and
unfortunately Melville was dead. Just like the 24th Regiment of Wales, Chalets
on the Park just happens to be #24 Melville Street of Dundee, not in Scotland,
but in Kwazulu-Natal.
Relax
under a palm tree, then chill out in the glistening swimming pool; or take a
morning walk to Mpati mountain, part of the first Long Tom action of the 2nd
Boer War. Just 2 km from Talana, 40km from Blood River, 65km from Isandlwana
and 45km from Rorke's Drift you can explore every spoke from the middle of the
Battlefield Wheel. Our well-appointed setting is in the centre of the Battlefield
Route and within reach of the bush, berg and the beach.
